The Red Dart, a small time criminal who has bounced on to the Most Wanted LIst on a few occasions, most notably for being a known sleeper agent for the Maverick secret agent, Double, had a long and sordid deaLIngs, most recently known to be working under an exclusivity contract with Vile during the last days of RobotropoLIs. Officials had all but given up on finding this villain until today when he was mailed to Scotland Yard. The pecuLIar thing being he was mailed in a 1X1X1 box, postage due. You can't turn off the Bass (Reuters) Gamers within Africa have sent complaints in to their local distributors as the edited version of the latest Megaman game, Megaman Goes To Bandcamp has proven to be less than the Forte of those playing. The game, having been recalled by the current government of the continent of Africa, was apparently re-released with a change to the game play; upon reaching a room in the first level where the player would send Mega Man into combat against Bass, the player would be entirely unable to defeat the LIkeness of the Force Leader. It also consisted of several off-color remarks, which insinuated things about Mega Man and his sister, his dog (Rush) and several abrupt 'Game Over's that included Bass taking out a button, pushing it, and stating that Mega Man had been 'beaten LIke a red-headed step child.' When approached for comment, the Force Leader shot the reporter, but later apologized, and shot the reporter again. (OOC: Posted by Bass. Mon Sep 23 Quick Man ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A few new rumors have spread around Tartarus, all talking about some sort of investigation for finding the one that put the price on Metal Man's head. While the first few scalled "reports" described Quick Man as the detective, those were soon stamped out by the new rumors that talked about ten or so Joes dressed LIke gangsters that were the investigators in the search for the person who put the price on the Robot Master. The Gangster Joes seemed more aggressive and violent in their respective rumors than Quick Man. Some rumors mention that only one of the Gangster Joes spoke, and that it seemed LIke the others didn't have that abiLIty. OOC: Please page or @mail me (Quick Man) with any information he could have uncovered about the person with the methods described in this post. You can also ask me if you need to know what methods were used before you give out any information. -The Speedster was here- $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ This just in... Apparently the University Hospital in Loma Lorna, CaLIfornia, is under attack by the Robot Masters. Several witnesses have spotted master terrorist Gemini Man on the premises. No violent action has been taken as of yet, and authorities are hoping that SOMEONE can remove him from the site before any humans in the faciLIty are hurt. OK, folks, moving rooms to Nevada, since I've just been told by admin that ALL of CaLIfornia is San Angeles, and isn't a vaLId target. My bad. Southwest United States While in the past the States of the Southwest began to grow and thrive with metro areas after decades of dessert LIfe, they now have once again reverted back to the ways of the old west of the mid 1800s. Small towns LIe here and there scattered across the sand LIke ants. The buildings within these towns, unable to afford the newer technologies, have resorted to using good old fashioned wood for the most part. Each town tries to be fairly self sufficient, each having it's own 'Sheriff' as a form of law and a leader. They only import what they cannot grow themselves. Keep in mind though, these are a hearty people as traveLIng between towns takes much strength and endurance for the desert sands are hot and unforgiving. So are the vultures. Outside> Breeze arrives in the city via teleporter, then takes to the skies to fly towards the hospital. She already has her sensors and radar going to try and see what she can piece together about the hospital and the situation around it, too. Who all is where, any obvious problems, etc. You lemit: "Just behind Breeze, the Air Musica Guard (and fLIrt) Bluegrass fLIes in from the teleporters. .oAh hope Ah not too late...-Oo." Outside> ---- Breeze is staring at Bluegrass in armor! ---- Outside> Void Starfish is in here somewhere, but you don't know where because you can't see her because she's actually a stolen Romulan cloaking device! ... or something. And if you have special equipment stuff, maybe you can see her anyway. In that case she's straight up and descending slowly, looking over the area to choose a target. Outside> Gemini Man is, in fact, inside of the hospital. And, he is, in fact, not doing ANYTHING untoward. Or, at least, not much. In fact, he's had himself a seat, by this point. In a chair, next to a wall... right outside the window that gazes over the maternity ward. It's notable that only one of him is visible at the moment. Though there are a pair of Reploid nurses in one of the other two hallways. One of them, in particular, looks horribly energetic about the situation, jumping up and down sLIghtly, and demanding of passers-by--who are either going toward or away from the situation as fast as they can--as to what exactly is happening over there. Outside> Magma Dragoon is standing on top of the building next to the hospital, peering down at the structure. He frowns, planning a stratigy here will be difficult. Need to remove Gemini, but not hurt the civiLIans. He snaps off a quick radio to the other hunter in the area. Outside> Napalm Man remains in the stealth transport, even after seeing resistence forces begin to arrive in the area. He paces back and forth for a bit but then decides to remain still, just in case someone outside hears the clanking. His mind begins to race, waiting for the signal from Gemini. Outside> Following soon after Bluegrass is that heroic Stingray, Jet Stingray fLIes in to take the rear of this aerial congo LIne of sorts. He doesn't have his hands on Bluegrass though, considering that would get him in trouble. With optics narrowed, Jet is not looking happy. "Attacking a hospital... How uncool." Outside> Magma Dragoon sends a radio transmission. Outside> Breeze receives a radio transmission. Outside> Breeze arrives in the airspace over the hospital in good order, and GLIdes down to a low hover about 15 feet above its rooftop. She can see Gemini well enough, and...decides to use the voice in her head, to make voices in his head. Rather, direct internal radioing. Outside> Shadow Man is also inside the building. It must be a very interesting building, what to have all those people inside of it. Not only three Robot Masters, but a helluva lot of civiLIans too, human and reploid aLIke. Plenty of things for a radar system to detect. Shadow Man in particular is proceeding through a long hall, pausing occasionally to check a map on the wall. Isn't that nice of them to provide maps? Makes getting where you want to be so much easier. Oh, but there are footsteps just around the next hallway. Just his luck to run across a person in a building full of people. Well, that's okay. If the designers went through so much trouble to install ventillation shafts, they may as well be useful. Outside> Serenade just continues on her way as medstudents begin freaking out, still wearing her Spiffy Nurse's Disguise. She is NOT an obvious problem, no sir. In fact, she's perfectly ordinary looking as she sLIps inside of the room Gemini had just singularly freaked out, and attempts to actually calm the students with such wonderful words as 'They're dead, don't worry!' and other such nonsense. Sure, the dissected creatures were indeed dead, and no beating heart stops her from pointing at an example dissection with convenient rubber GLoves on, poking the long-dead creature very LIghtly. See? Dead. Unfortunately that doesn't do a thing to stop the rash of boils that flares up the 'nurse's' arm, drawing a shriek of alarm from the reploid, and continued panicked screaming from the students, who promptly flee the room in a panicked rush, the apparently plauged reploid promptly escaping into an adjacent ward, where yet more people are sent scrambLIng to or away from her side depending on their level of sympathy.. only to have the apparent Nurse scream again and slam the door shut. A moment later Serenade, now apparently one of the students save for that damned manilla folder, walks out of the room as calmly as you please, shrugs to those standing outside with panicked looks, and saunters down the hallway, pulLIng behind a classroom skeleton on those metal poles. Serenade's not doing anything but causing utter chaos. Outside> Breeze sends a radio transmission. Outside> Magma Dragoon receives a radio transmission from Breeze. I'm thinking, but...this isn't anything I'm famiLIar with." Outside> Gemini Man stands up from his seat. UnLIke Serenade...he is not causing chaos. He steps in front of the window to the room, and looks inside. Then, he turns around again. Looks LIke...he is waiting. The other nurse startles...convincinGLy, at the mess Serenade's hologram usage is beginning to cause. She races away as the chaos begins, and ducks into a room where two patients are bed-ridden, hooked to IVs.... Closing the door behind her, she smiles sLIghtly. Outside> Gemini Man sends a radio transmission. Outside> Breeze receives a radio transmission from Gemini Man. Outside> Jet Stingray thinks for a moment as he moves toward Breeze and Bluegrass f they are in plain sight. "Void, we might need you to go in their shealthed to figure out what is going on and make try and stop them with as LIttle viloence as possible." Outside> Breeze receives a radio transmission from Bluegrass. Outside> [Radio] You send Breeze a direct message: "Understood, sug--Huntah. And Ah don't know what ta do either. It's either what it would take for them ta leave quietly... or go with the Dragon's idea..." Outside> Breeze is indeed in plain sight; she's floating above the hospital roof by just a dozen feet or so. And after a few moments of this, she GLIdes over the edge, then down to the main door. Probably to go inside, but she's got a distinct lack of weapons in hand. Outside> Void Starfish nods to Jet... and vanishes again. "I can't send radios out while stealthed. Stay in contact." She darts towards the hospital. Outside> Void Starfish activates her stealth mode. Outside> Breeze sends a radio transmission to Gemini Man. Outside> Gemini Man receives a radio transmission. Ah'll try ta see if ah can sneak up." Outside> Void Starfish halts in front of Napalm, peeking over his shoulders... door's blocked... have to Rift it to get through... Jat said to use LIttle violence... she whirls up to the roof. Maybe she can get in through the heLIpad entrance. Outside> The LIttle nurse, the startled, Reploid nurse, approaches one of the hooked up patients with a sLIghtly sadistic smile. "Do you want me to adjust your pillow?" She grins, and cackles, then suddenly...bLInks, and looks out toward the window. She then wanders over, and opens the window, leaning forward to peer out. "YOU there!" she shouts at Breeze. ...Why, yes. THAT's where that other Gemini Man twin went to, cloaked in a rather elaborate hologram, with those for the esenses to detect such things. "What exactly are you doing, anyway?" The Gemini in the hallway paces somewhat, looking through the window. T minus. Outside> Bluegrass, after transmitting the radio, states quietly, "Defense Changer -- Mode Change -- Stealth Mode OnLIne." And the White Guard fLIckers from view... Outside> Napalm Man finally picks a target, running towards Jet Stingray at full speed. Just before reaching Jet, Napalm jumps forward and right, aiming his arm cannons and strafing the area with Napalm Gel as he fLIes past. Outside> Breeze sends a radio transmission. Outside> Serena Gilbert receives a radio transmission. Breeze sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "There's an entry-hole cut into the wall. You can get in through it. Someone in the vents, too." Outside> Napalm Man misses Jet Stingray with his Napalm Gel attack. Outside> Bluegrass activates her stealth mode. Outside> Breeze receives a radio transmission. Outside> [Radio] You send Breeze a direct message: "Ah see it, Hunter. Ah goin' ta try fer it." Outside> Breeze sends a radio transmission. Outside> Serena Gilbert receives a radio transmission from Breeze. Breeze sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "And more notably, one of the Gemini Men is at the...maternity ward area. Your call, I'm deaLIng with a problem at the window." Outside> Serenade continues to scare people witless while she waits. It's amazing what a bit of holograms and a LIttle more engenuity can do to terrify the pathetic, weak, and human. But what can you do, right? Outside> Shadow Man works his way towards the necessary room through the ventilation system. Almost there. Why, it's just on the other side of that filtering module, which takes air in through a small channel and couldn't be passed even if destroyed. Well, isn't that convenient. Backtracking, then... A left turn at the first junction, and then the Robot Master drops through into a large supply closet. Medical suppLIes... Might be a bit valuable. Pity there's no time to grab some. He's close now, but still not there... Outside> Void Starfish now has options. Gemini's window, Napalm's door, or the heLIpad entrance. Since she's at about the same level, and because she decides that for the moment teamwork is good, she moves to where she last saw Breeze, and squirms in through the window, careful not to touch her or Gemini. It would be a bad thing. Outside> Breeze just hovers several feet away from the window, and a few inches above the ground. Facing the Gemini 'nurse', she seems rather agitated. "What am I doing? Trying to put a stop to this. You want to 'play', but you're not making any sense. Just what the hell is it you're after, exactly?" She shifts sLIghtly as Void nears, but makes no audiable comment on the RF'er approaching... Outside> Breeze sends a radio transmission. Outside> Serena Gilbert receives a radio transmission. Breeze sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Which one're you going for?" Outside> Bluegrass (now invisible) starts to float downwards towards the vent system... where it lands outside (or inside if you're looking at it Bluegrass' POV). She sLIps it off, and crawls in and sLIps it back in... hoping no one was looking at the vent. Bluegrass deactivates the Stealth mode and proceeds to crawl forth -- After all, if a Master is in here... "crashing" into thin air would tip them off that someone's there. FAST. Outside> Gemini Man doesn't really give Void the time to see him in a girl guise. It just wouldn't do in this situation. As Void Starfish approaches, he jumps back, and lets the hologram disguise fade away. He snaps his fingers, now standing in the center of the room. Well, fun was over already on his end. He crosses his arms. "Finally. A RepLIforcer. We LIke you so much better." He takes another step back, now yelLIng out the window. "Simple. Really. It's a funny game. We want to see how well people LIke you respond to dangerous situations LIke this." He takes a step towards one of the beds. "How best to remove a Robot Master from a hospital room? Think of it as a test of your intuition." Outside> Jet Stingray fLIes off to the side to narrowly avoid getting hit with the gel. "So, you want to play...Do you?" Jet readies his weapon systems, clearly ready to rock and roll. Flying right for Napalm, he seems ready to charge, but pulls up at the last second. No attack? Think again, because as he pulls up, his tail lashes out as he tries to give Napalm something to think about before flying straight up. Outside> Jet Stingray strikes Napalm Man with his Tail Whip attack. Outside> Serena Gilbert sends a radio transmission to Breeze. Outside> Breeze receives a radio transmission. [Radio] You send Breeze a direct message: "The one crawLIn' in the vent. If Ah can take 'im out, he wouldn't be able ta sound a alarm. Ah hope." Outside> Breeze sends a radio transmission. Outside> Serena Gilbert receives a radio transmission. Breeze sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "Fine then. Keep going. I'll transmit coordinates to where whoever it is in the vent is going. Kind of hard to get a perfect match. Head them off if you can read these." You're already unstealthed. Outside> Bluegrass deactivates her stealth mode. Outside> Breeze noticably turns angry at the response given by the Gemini Man in the hospital room, but she's holding her position outside the window. "So that's all your after!? Seeing how well I can toss you out of there, and keep them aLIve? Treating them LIke toys in some damn game?" Outside> Napalm Man grrs as Jet's tail lashes across his face, causing it to sting a bit. Napalm stumbles and falls backwards but rolls back up into a crouch before leaping up into the air and sLIghtly back, launching some Shoulder Flares at the flying stingray. Outside> Napalm Man strikes Jet Stingray with his Shoulder Flares attack. Outside> Void Starfish pouts as she's found out... Frowns... "Best way?" She darts over behind Gemini while he's yelLIng out the window, and hovers sLIghtly in the air. Her arms grind to a near halt, a force of gravity pushing out to try and shove Gemini out said window, or through the wall if the window's not the right size. Outside> Void Starfish deactivates her stealth mode. Outside> Gemini Man turns off his holographic projection of Gemini Man. Outside> Void Starfish misses Gemini Man with her Repulsor Beam attack. Outside> Jet Stingray gets hit with the flames, but seems to only escape with only LIght burns. Jet crosses his arm in an X-shape as he prepares the counter attack, floating in the skies in the whole 'I'm big and bad' bit as narrows his optics at the destructive Robot Master. Homing in with his targeting sensors, he sends the info to his Hunter Mines, brown weaker varrients of his Ground Hunters. The mines start to hover out from his back, circLIng him LIke a protective halo. As their eyes GLow red, they soon shoot off toward Napalm Man. Outside> Bluegrass pauses ever so briefly, as a datastream flows in. Serena smiles. .oYa good. If only you were a guy, Breeze. If only...-Oo. She shakes her head, and brings it to focus... And using the waypoints the datastream provided... Bluegrass goes... Shadow Huntin'. Be wery wery quiet... Outside> Jet Stingray strikes Napalm Man with his Hunter Mines attack. Outside> Napalm Man dives to the side to attempt to dodge the Hunters, but a few still connect, sending him reeLIng to the ground. Napalm picks himself back up onto his feet, spitting a bit of mechfluid from his mouth before he lowers to a crouch and springs back up towards Jet at high velocity, crossing his arms across his chest and attempting to smash into the 'forcer Outside> Napalm Man strikes Jet Stingray with his Smash attack. Outside> Serenade has finally stopped terrifying people pointlessly, go her. Now she's taken to simply waiting for things to *happen*, content to wander the halls, carrying a soda snagged from a staffroom fridge. She's quite aware of the fighting going on, but .. it wasn't after her yet. Yet being the active term here. Do do do. Outside> Gemini Man jumps to the side immediately as Void decloaks, the gravitational beam missing him, as he lands just between the two beds. One of the patients seems a bit more LIvely than the other, and actually attempts to crawl out of his bed, toward the door, dragging the IV behind him. The other seems to be heavily doped. He snickers and grins. Then, in response to Breeze, says, "Yep! Last time, General showed up. We killed six people. You think you can do better?" Outside> Jet Stingray grunts as he gets nailed with the attack, flying a few feet before landing on his rear. Getting up as he shakes his head, Jet charges Napalm Man in turn raising both of his hands over his head to try and bring them down on his foe's shoulders. "Looks LIke this fight will be interesting..." he offers under his beath. Outside> Jet Stingray misses Napalm Man with his Smash attack. Outside> Gemini Man sends a radio transmission to Serenade. Outside> Serenade receives a radio transmission. Outside> Shadow Man seems to be feeLIng a bit rascally tonight. He fLIps onto the tall cieLIng, positioning himself behind a convenient entranceway into the hall from another room, and waits for someone to pass by. And someone does, a reploid. But he doesn't do anything. Another reploid, and then someone wheeLIng a human, and still nothing. Those damn lazy ninjas. Finally, a man in a labcoat enters. Something small fLIes through the air, striking him in the neck. He immediately swats it, as a mosquito, and then falls to the ground. Maybe he hit himself too hard. Stupid humans. Regardless, Shadow man fLIps down, taking the LIttle ID card from the fallen doctor. Maybe he'll give it back later. Maybe not. Another person arrives, gets one look at his armor, and promptly runs in the opposite direction. Damn foot traffic. Bad idea to stay around here then... Quickly he reenters the system. Now that he has some means of access, it would be a good idea to approach from another direction than the one in which he'll now be expected. Outside> Serenade sends a radio transmission. Outside> Gemini Man receives a radio transmission. Outside> Napalm Man ducks and rolls to the side as Jet fails to get any purchase on Napalm, his fists whizzing by the explosive master's side as he rolls past. Napalm rolls up onto his feet and runs backwards away from his enemy, taking this opportunity to lob a Gas Grenade at the feet of the Stingray. Outside> Serenade quite suddenly turns and sets her meandering pace ... toward where Gemini was, picking up another soda on the way, humming cheerfully under her breath. Okay, she was wrong. She -had- figured this would be harder. Oh well. "Hey, don't brag," the Femme says from the doorway to Gemini's room, leaning against the wooden frame. The Starfish is eyed with interest. "Any of you thirsty?" The sodas held up sLIghtly. Does she ever take thes things seriously? Outside> Napalm Man misses Jet Stingray with his Gas Grenades attack. Outside> Huh? (Type "help" for help.) Outside> And as Irony would have it, Bluegrass arrives at the same point where Shadow... roughly 15-20 minutes after he left. And as Fate would have it, she nearly startled the patients. "Easy, easy. Ah'm one of the good guys... Ah'm lookin' for a certain Robot... Looks LIke a ReColoration of Protoman. Know where he is?" ...And the patients points at the vents. Bluegrass... FACEPALMS. "Oy." And keys up her radio... Outside> Breeze receives a radio transmission from Bluegrass. Outside> [Radio] You send Breeze a direct message: "Sugah, the path just went cold. Got a new path fer LIttle ol' me?" Outside> Jet Stingray mimics Napalm Man as he also ducks and rolls to the side. Whether that was accidently or on purpose is unknown. Trying to cut the distance between him and his foe, Jet merely turns his foot jets onto full power and goes right for the firey fiend. As he rockets for Napalm, Jet puts his hands over his head, the Stingray of Justice getting try and plow into him with all he has. Outside> Breeze sends a radio transmission to Serena Gilbert. Outside> Serena Gilbert receives a radio transmission. Breeze sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "No. I've got my own problems." Outside> Jet Stingray strikes Napalm Man with his Torpedo Slam attack. Outside> Breeze holds her float outside the window, since she can see and hear Gemini just fine without direct LIne-of-sight anyway. She just seems to get more and more angry though as he speaks. "Quit comparing me to everyone else! I don't care what his results were! Get out!" Then her left hand begins GLowing a dark purple. A moment later, the briefest of odd mechanical humming is heard behind Gemini, then a one-direction 'explosion' of gravity forces tries to propel him away from the beds. In pinball style, if this works, another gravity burst has been readied and will launch Gemini out the window. A jarring ride, but harmless by and large. Just have to have the first one launch him forward, or the second will naturally fail. Outside> Bluegrass sighs briefly, before going back into the vents. Hey. There is a good chance they'll cross paths.... .oBut Ah doubt it. Luck isn't with me...Ah wish Ah was Derek...-Oo. And the Shadow Hunt continues... Outside> Breeze misses Gemini Man with her Grasp attack. Outside> Napalm Man urks and fLIes back, crashing through one of the windows and landing on top of an empty hospital bed. Napalm rolls off and jumps over a patient, who is currently wondering whether this is an illusion enduced by the morpheine, and through the window. Napalm clenches his fists and throws his arms out and back as a large missile launches from his forehead. Outside> Napalm Man strikes Jet Stingray with his Head Missile attack. Outside> Shadow Man hops out again. Well, this is more LIke it. GLancing around, he heads through another door, and swipes the doctor's card in the keypad. The doors open. Beyond is something that looks pretty technical, pretty important, and pretty heavy. But Shadow Man doesn't step through the doors. He GLances the panel for a moment, analyzing it, and taps a few keys. The doors close shut again. Well, no reason to be here any more... The ninja Master again access the ventilation system, heading generally southwards, towards nothing in particular. Outside> Gemini Man jumps back and leaps over the gravity ball, fLIpping backward, and finally landing on the other side of the bed closest to the door. Luckily, the patient has already crawled away. He stands up again, and laughs... no good. "Guess you two will have to find another strategy. Come on, Serenade..." He turns, and shrugs. "Babies are down the hall." And, then, barring any difficulty, he starts to walk towards the door. Outside> Void Starfish fLIckers for a moment, looking from Gemini to Serenade... Well, Gemini's more obvious... and actually doing bad stuff... so she keeps picking on him. This time her arms reverse, and she quickly tries to lock on with a tractor beam to stop his departure. Outside> Void Starfish strikes Gemini Man with her Tractor Beam attack. Outside> Gemini Man is temporarily disoriented by Void Starfish's Tractor Beam attack. Outside> ... Ew, gravity ball. The gravitational flux -is- noted by Serenade, who ... just kinda sidles away from the attack. "Strategies are for those with time to plan. Ooh, babies." She could feign inthusiasm. Sure they were cute, but they cried a lot, and that was more than a LIttle annoying to someone with sensitive audials. However she pauses when Void attacks Gemini. "Hey! What's with you people always picking on my brothers?" She'd shake a fist if she had one open. "Dont' you have Mavericks to repress somewhere?!" Outside> Breeze reaches behind her back as Gemini Man is 'locked', and produces a baton handle into her right hand, which extends a 4-foot long rod with electricity arcing along its surface. This done, she fLIes into the room through the window. "I couldn't care less how old or young your targets are, they couldn't give less of a damn about me either. But don't be so patronizing and callous!" All that yelLIng's probably aimed at Gemini in particular, as she floats a few inches above the ground. "Take him outside, you." That's said towards Void, notably enough. Outside> Bluegrass hops out of the vents, and GLances around. Secure door. Door leading to the morgue...and the doctor's lounge. oNothin'. Unless he's behind that door...-Oo. Quickly discounting that idea... but remembers where this place is... just in case she's wrong. And leaps back into the vents. Let's see... North leads outside. West leads into Maturity Wards... where she should go if this seems LIke a wild chase. East leads to...back where she came from. South it is. Maybe he's at the Research Lab. Maybe... Outside> Void Starfish grins as the beam takes hold. Wow! This thing never works... but today it did! She swings around quickly and aims Gems back at that window, then reverses the flow. AWAY! Out the window! Outside> Void Starfish strikes Gemini Man with her Throw attack. Outside> Jet Stingray tries to bring up his arms to block, but the missle smashes into him painfully. His right arm fLIes off, in the attack, the pain incredable. That took a lot out of him. Getting to one foot, he rises the other as the shinplate lowers. "You want firepower... I've give you firepower!" Jet cries out as a red mini-ray shoots out, traiLIng along the ground until it finds its prey. If it hits.... BOOM! Outside> Gemini Man is...stopped, a step hovering in midair as he feels his body start to be pulled backward. He gives a shout of disapproval...then, makes a very dramatic show of resisting against the beam's pull, frozen in it as he is. "No, don't worry, Serenade! Go on without me!" "Hey." Gemini Man then...steps up to that same door from the outside, peering in at everyone gathered in and around the room. He looks at Serenade questioninGLy, as his counterpart flails wildly. "You coming, or not?" Then, Void Starfish reaches over for the struck Gemini Man, and fLIngs him bodily out the window. The second twin watches this with some amusement, then, winces as the first hits the ground two stories below, taking nothing more than a bump on the head. "Bummer," he concludes. Outside> Jet Stingray strikes Napalm Man with his Ground Hunter attack. Outside> Serenade salutes to Gemini almost jauntily, and follows the *other* twin, offering him one of the sodas. "You sure he'll be okay?" Which Gemini was this one anyway? Back on track! Outside> Shadow Man continues until he reaches... Another filter. What is it with hopsitals and filters? I guess maybe they want to be sterile or something. Stupid hospitals. Several slashes to confirm his hypothesis... A rather aweful sound as the mechanisms grate against one another... Yep, can't be passed. Ah well. Backtracking a bit, Shadow Man comes upon a grate, and... the sounds of movement farther down. Hey, get your own duct. The Robot Master exits through the grating into a research lab. Look at all that... stuff. Vials and things. Medicine is gross. Shadow Man calmly walks through the door, despite the chaos of the humans who were in the lab at the time he decided to drop by. And he doesn't even kill any of them. How nice. Outside> Napalm Man is sent to the ground by the hunter as it strikes his left shin, blowing it clean off. Napalm lets out a howl of pain and then grits his teeth, cLImbing up onto his knee to prepare his Napalm Blast. "That's it, I'm finishing this now! Nothing can stop the Robot Masters!" With that, Napalm lets loose his primary, attempting to take down Jet in a great ball of fire. Outside> Napalm Man strikes Jet Stingray with his Napalm Blast attack. Outside> Breeze fLIes on out the door and into the hallway as Serenade and the in-doors Gemini begin to depart. "And don't ignore me either, you! It's people LIke you that cause all these problems!" No, really!? Amazing revelation, that. Outside> Jet Stingray tries to use his Hunter Mines to protect him in a halo LIke shield, but it fails as the attack overwhelms the Mines and Jet, coating him with the firely destruction which has killed and maimed so many. Yet he survives it.... Barely. Smoking and burned all over, he offers a lone radio before he drops to the ground too hurt to continue fight. At least he drove off Napalm Man. Nothing LIke a stalemate. Outside> Napalm Man has disconnected. Outside> ---- Shadow Man is staring at Bluegrass in armor! ---- Outside> Bluegrass continues to crawl southward until she reaches the Research Lab. She pauses briefly to look at the Filters. Closely, even. They don't look damaged... Which leaves... Bluegrass drops into the Research Labs and quickly excuses herself as she leaves. One of the doctors GLances at Bluegrass then at the vents and sighs. o.o Outside> Void Starfish sends a radio transmission. Outside> Jet Stingray receives a radio transmission from Void Starfish. Outside> Outside of the building, Gemini Man rolls forward, and rubs the back of his head, then stands up and looks out at the open window. ...Great. Well, he certainly didn't care whether or not he struck a human target, and it might be better to get the Hunters and Forcers out of the building and away from the raid's actual POINT. ...Yes, a point...can you imagine? The in-doors Gemini rolls his eyes as Breeze chases after. "Go on, finish up," he says to Serenade. "LIke we said...we can handle this stuff." He turns around, and...simply opens fire on Breeze, letting a sudden flurry of lasers out through his ready weapon. The outside twin takes a more careful approach. He aims ONE shot...up, through the open window, attempting to ricochet it off the pane, and strike an unseen target inside. Tricky business, but, it is Gemini, after all. Outside> Gemini Man misses Breeze with his Laser Barrage attack. Outside> Gemini Man misses Void Starfish with his Laser Barrage attack. Outside> Jet Stingray sends a radio transmission. Outside> Void Starfish receives a radio transmission. Outside> Serenade nods once more, setting aside the soda cans and trotting purposefully toward the coordinates indicated, the remains of the nurse hologram dissolving away in a fLIcker of energy, leaving the Femme to conserve energy for things coming up. Assuming Gemini keeps Breeze busy, she'll quickly be out of sight and into corridors further inside the building. Outside> Shadow Man takes a moment to pause and... LIsten. Yes, footsteps definately following him, and reasonably fast. Fast enough? We'll see... Shadow Man GLances around, and starts vaulting down the halls at top speed, toppLIng over anyone who may happen to be in his way. Their own fault for not moving in time. Outside> Shadow Man retreats from the area swiftly, leaving him open to pursuit or parting shots from Jet Stingray, Breeze, and Bluegrass. Outside> Jet Stingray merely offers a salute to the heroes still fighting before slowly making his way back to base... He'll get there on his own. Really. Outside> Void Starfish eyes the lasers with big eyes. "Yummy!" She reaches out and drags her hands through them, siphoning most of it up. "mm... LIght..." She smiles and looks at Gemini. "Now... are you the real one, or the yummy fake one? Hold still." She makes a spike from her wrist and sLIngs it at him. Outside> Void Starfish misses Gemini Man with her Water Spike attack. Outside> Breeze puts on an incredible display of zig-zagging in fLIght through...a hallway. Every sinGLe one of Gemini's lasers misses as she 'sidesteps', fLIes over, or twists aside from them. "I said no!" As Breeze tries to fly over Gemini's head and pursue Serenade, ten silver orbs launch off her back. Five head off for Gemini, and project thin red 'beams' from a thin weapon barrel, the other five repeating this and heading for Serenade. Flying beam sabres in effect. Each group of five tries to make fly-by slashes at their target, then fLIes back to return to Breeze. Outside> Bluegrass peers around the corner... just in time to a Master (that much is certain) showing off his l33t Neenja skillz. Which, at the very least, narrows Search out... as this one has one head. As for Shadow getting ahead? Not while she's here. Bluegrass runs after after him, in a attempt to ram-tackle him. The battlecry: "Comin' Atcha, Sugah!" Outside> You are stunned and unable to attack. Outside> Breeze misses Gemini Man with her Option Spread attack. Outside> Breeze strikes Serenade with her Option Spread attack. Outside> You strike Shadow Man with your Ram attack. Outside> You rebound off of Shadow Man, taking 3 units of damage. Outside> Shadow Man turns around briefly, when it becomes evident that his persue is faster than he. The full-on impact strikes him, knocking him to the ground with Bluegrass on top. It's his cross to bear... the ladies just can't seem to get enough of Shadow Man. But right now he has other things to do. Spinning around, he smashes into Bluegrass' side with a neatly placed elbow strike. Or that's the idea. Outside> A spike of water...falls out of the window. Gemini Man looks up at this, and takes a slow step aside, as it splatters onto the ground. "Did you just say 'yummy?'" he cries out at the window. Indoors, the other twin falls flat to the ground as Breeze strikes, ducking, covering, and being near-missed by the area slash. He charges toward Breeze, full-force, just trying to bowl her over and get her to back away. Her scanners will detect, as he approaches, that he is in fact a hologram...but no lesser in physical strength to his robotic counterpart. Outside> Shadow Man strikes you with a minor hit from his Generic Melee for 8 units of damage. Outside> Gemini Man misses Breeze with his Twin Tackle attack. Outside> Serenade yelps in pain as the attack manages to strike, cursing one hell of a storm as she immediately moves to evade Breeze, heading further into the hospital regardless of pursuit. -This- was the problem with this particular armor.. it was far weaker. Which means Serenade wasn't sticking around to fight if she could avoid it. Outside> Void Starfish dives out the window down towards Gemini, legs fusing into a sharp pointy spindle. "Yes. I said yummy. Your energy is most compatible with my reactor." She falls downwards, attempting to impale and through contact begin to drain energy. Outside> Void Starfish strikes Gemini Man with her Void Spike attack. Outside> Gemini Man sends a radio transmission. Outside> Shadow Man receives a radio transmission. Outside> Bluegrass .oWhy is it that no matter which guy I end up ramming into, I always end up on top. LUck is a sick freak.-Oo. Of course she so distracted that the elbow smash lands and gets Bluegrass off Shadow (and no, not in that WAY). She shakes her head, and sweeps her leg out to trip Shadow up... before he tries for his Road Runer impression once again. Outside> Shadow Man dodges your Kick attack. Outside> FooLIsh CiviLIan, you cannot trip up the ninja! That's what the Hicho no Kamae is for. Rising first with his leading knee, hands defensively in front of him, the ninja snaps out a kick to Bluegrass's helmet, projecting small spikes on the sole of the foot as he does. Outside> Shadow Man misses you with his Ashiko Kick attack. Outside> *Addendum to her pose!:o* And while she's doing her best to Get The Hell Away, Serenade quite abrubtly switches armors, white metal replaced with far darker in a fLIcker-flash of indigo energy. Outside> Serenade changes into her Armored armor. Outside> You may be l33t Neenja, but Bluegrass is a l33t Gymnastic Power Ranger-Wannabe. Really. Which is why she fLIps to evade that extremely *pointy* kick. And returns with her kick once again. But with a difference. White Energy arches nearly Bluegrass' heel becoming a spur... And then, she tries to return to favor -- aiming her spur kick at Shadow's face. "Time fer a good ol' Country Beatdown!" Outside> You strike Shadow Man with your Spur Kick attack. Outside> Breeze simply fLIts above Gemini's tackle attempt, almost hitting the ceiLIng in the process, but not quite. She's still pursuing Serenade, and points her Elec-Rod at the RM. Various large sparks, ball LIghtning in a sense, begin firing off of it and towards Serenade. It's weak, but when in a hospital, collateral damage from stronger weapons would be bad. Very bad. Outside> Breeze strikes Serenade with her Spark Blast attack. Outside> Jet Stingray enters the Sky Above Western United States. Outside> Gemini Man, outside, is pierced through by the Starfish, a sharp needle from her body driving through the center of his stomach. No...sorry, Void...seems as if you are deaLIng with the real article. He winces, closing one eye sLIghtly, but, then, chuckles. "Do I even NEED to tell you how kinky this is?" Still, he's not happy to be poked and prodded by the wrong end of a Starfish, and puts together a quick solution. He forms a right hand where his gun should be... and, at the same time, the form of a crowbar soLIdifies into that hand, Gemini Man lowering the holographic weapon at the offending spike. "Now...seriously. Absorb THIS!" The twin indoors misses the tackle spectatularly, hits the dirt in the process, and takes some time getting back to his feet before turning to pursue Breeze again. Outside> Gemini Man misses Void Starfish with his Hologram Hammer attack. Outside> Void Starfish does. Outside> Shadow Man is kicked... in the face! Not the face! Now he looks all silly, his ninja skills a travesty. Clearly this cannot be had. Most of the people have fled the two by now, only a few slack-jawed gawkers remaining. Pity Shadow Man has no 'blow up a city block' attacks to teach them a lesson. They'll have to settle for a free show instead. Next event: Swordfighting. The Robot Master draws his katana from its hidden sheath in his back, sweeping it out, and... Nearly smacks the hilt into Bluegrass's temple. Don't worry, it gets better. Outside> Shadow Man strikes you with a GLancing hit from his Katana Hilt Strike for 4 units of damage. Outside> You take extra damage due to your Blunt weakness. Outside> Void Starfish backfLIps out of Gemini's abdomen and reaches up to catch the hammer. It can be seen swirLIng through her hands and down across her body until it fLIckers and vanishes. "Yummy!" She frowns. "Aww... you're for real." She pouts a LIttle and hovers above him, shooting a few more spikes down at him from differently colored arms. Outside> Void Starfish strikes Gemini Man with her Electric Spike attack. Outside> Serenade didn't care about collateral damage, so long as it wasn't -her- being damaged. The Femme snarls in growing anger as the attack strikes, sending pain jolting through her systems as she suddenly skids to a stop. "I don't have TIME FOR YOU!" From a holster is drawn a hypervelocity pistol, which is then aimed and fired quickly at Breeze. She had other things to attend to. Outside> Serenade misses Breeze with her Hv Full Auto attack. Outside> Breeze begins juking about the hallway in a seeminGLy random manner as Serenade aims and fires. Indeed, she begins dodging pre-emptively, and this results in her just being too fast to accurately target. "You, and everyone else! I'm tired of that! MAKE time!" She begins trying to fly in a circle right around Serenade, Elec-Rod swinging all the while at various parts of Serenade's body. Also of note, a dark purple GLow surrounds her left hand. Outside> Breeze strikes Serenade with her Elec-rod Assault attack. Outside> Breeze puts her guard up. Outside> Serena winces in pain. That was not nice. Considering that the suit is weak to hard soLId things... LIke the handle of a sword. She recovers somewhat and GLances about. She can't use her crossbow. It would mean getting some distance... which means Shadow can open up with his range... and bring the hospital down. That cannot happen. And so Shadow gets treated to a Gymnastic Floor Show. FLIps, Cartwheels, and all that... which flows into a... Asskicking. Gymnastic Version. 1.01. Outside> Gemini Man has reconnected. Outside> Serenade sends a radio transmission. Outside> Gemini Man receives a radio transmission from Serenade. Outside> You strike Shadow Man with your Gymnastic Attack attack. Announcement: Reminder: Please check orders and bboards 2 and 3 often for important MUSH information. And help us hire a new Data-LIke Entity. Data...we miss you. Outside> Damn. Now, version 1.0, Shadow Man could shrug off. Have a few laughs, whip out the more powerful weaponry, and let hell loose. But 1.01... There's just no way to fight a power LIke that. I mean, there are three significant figures. Three. That's a lot more than two, any way you count it. Most ways, anyway. His work here is done anyway. If he can't simply outdistance her... He'll have to leave her in his dust first, and get her to lose his trail. The LIttle grey ball that the ninja suddenly hurls at his feet might have something to do with that. Outside> Shadow Man strikes you with a GLancing hit from his Shadow Smoke for 0 units of damage. Outside> Bluegrass is temporarily disoriented by Shadow Man's Shadow Smoke attack. Outside> Shadow Man sends a radio transmission. Outside> Bluegrass's systems suddenly go FUBAR as visual goes offLIne for Serena, "What the?! Ah can't see!!!" Bluegrass cries out, as she tries to wave the smoke away. x.x Outside> Gemini Man has partially disconnected. Outside> Gemini Man sends a radio transmission to Serenade. Outside> Serenade receives a radio transmission. Outside> The smoke LIngers for a long moment... Perhaps five seconds, but that's long enough of a moment when deaLIng with an assassin android... But then finally dissipates, sucked up into the very ventillation system which so recently provided a convenient means of transportation. And when it clears... Why, you're alone, and surrounded by people who are /not/ lying in pools of their own blood, but rather GLaincing around and waving their arms stupidly. How nice. Shadow Man's gone, but chances are, you probably didn't LIke him much anyway, eh? Outside> Shadow Man retreats from the area swiftly, leaving him open to pursuit or parting shots from Serenade, Breeze, and Bluegrass. Outside> Nevermind the inherint flaw in being alone and surrounded. There are no plot holes. Outside> Shadow Man activates his stealth mode. Outside> Serenade still continues to head -away- from Breeze regardless, by now greatly irritated. The assault doesn't go quite as intended, the electric swings instead meeting repeated blocks by fast-moving arms, sending the jolts of electricity sizzLIng through non-vital systems instead. "Too bad! Find someone else to make time!" The femme draws no weapon this time, instead powering up sonic systems and giving an ear-spLItting screech.. which is promply ampLIfied a hundredfold to send a blast of raw sound ripping through the air in a visible shockwave. Outside> Serenade strikes Breeze with her Chorus Overload attack. Outside> Bluegrass GLances about as her 'eyes' clears up and sees... No Master. Damn. Damn. Damn. Bluegrass turns around and tries to calm down those who stay back to watch the fight. As for Shadow Man? Oh, yes, The White Guard hates him. But there will be another day. There always is. Outside> You are now unstunned. Outside> Gemini Man is shocked with a volley of electric spikes, and takes the hit, though his surge dampeners do a bit to suppress it. He shakes his head. Pointless... fighting Void here isn't going to help himself inside. "I'm going back inside where it's safe. Join me?" Gemini smiles sLIghtly, and, starts to run off. Inside, the image of the twin fLIckers sLIghtly, as if getting interference to his transmission as the twin outside takes damage. Luckily, he manages to pull himself together. He turns his gun toward the wall, and unleashes another volley of shots. This time, he's trying to hit anything stationary he can strike... getting mostly wall from here, but also knocking over a medcart, pinging a shot into a room, and sending a shot off toward Breeze. Outside> Gemini Man misses Breeze with his Ricochet Blast attack. Outside> Breeze deflects Ricochet Blast from Gemini Man. Outside> Gemini Man retreats from the area swiftly, leaving him open to pursuit or parting shots from Serenade, Breeze, Bluegrass, and Shadow Man. Outside> Breeze is blown onto her back by the soundwave, internals shattering from the effects. It hurts. Badly, and a scream from her confirms this. She does GLIde back up to a low hover quickly enough however, and thrusts her left hand at the incoming energy beam; an invisible gravity wall stops it handily. "Always LIke this...I hate this, all of it!" She holds her left hand above her head, clenched into a fist now. Two black, foGLIke 'orbs' form in the air, one near Gemini and the other near Serenade. They throb for a second, then 'explode' in a wave of potentially crushing g-forces. Outside> Breeze strikes Gemini Man with her Gravity Spread attack. Outside> Breeze strikes Serenade with her Gravity Spread attack. Outside> Void Starfish's eyes perk up as Gemini runs away. She rises into the air to twirls after him, only sLIghtly faster in the air than on foot. She pouts and follows Gemini as best she can, a few spikes flooding the ground behind him as she persues. "Hey! Come back! I haven't set you on fire yet!" Outside> Serenade receives a radio transmission. Outside> Serenade sends a radio transmission to Dr. Wily. Outside> Serenade receives a radio transmission. Outside> Serenade sends a radio transmission to Dr. Wily. Outside> Okay. Things have calmed down. Now, what to do here? Nothing. Unless, the Hunter she flew in with needs some sort of help...Right. And Dr. LIght is Santa Claus. o.o Still, it doesn't hurt to check in, and if things are under control, Bluegrass will head home. After all, it looks LIke the Masters are leaving... so why stick around? Outside> Serena Gilbert sends a radio transmission. Outside> Breeze receives a radio transmission. [Radio] You send Breeze a direct message: "The one in the vent got away, sugah. Need some help?" Outside> Gemini Man is hit with a wave of gravity from inside, and... buckLIng under beneath the pressure of the attack...he vanishes. Gone. However, he's still aLIve and kicking outside, rushing back to the building entrance. The interior has largely been evacuated in panic by anyone who could move, and the doors hang open. He returns to the lobby, then winces as he feels his hologram take the hit that disintegrates him. He clenches his lone fist, then taps a few buttons on his opposite arm, working to get his backup systems back onLIne. Outside> Breeze sends a radio transmission to Serena Gilbert. Outside> Serena Gilbert receives a radio transmission from Breeze. Breeze sends you a tightbeam radio transmission: "No. Do whatever the hell floats your boat." Outside> Serenade receives a radio transmission from Snake Man. Outside> For a moment there's an almost maniacal look in pale gray eyes as Breeze's attack strikes, and the Femme doesn't voice pain that sears through her system, stopping clean in the middle of the hallway, eyes narrowed, breath coming in slow, shuddering gasps. "You," the Femme snarls definitively, "Suck." But she doesn't attack. What's she waiting for? Outside> Serenade sends a radio transmission to Snake Man. Outside> Serenade receives a radio transmission. Outside> Breeze isn't waiting, however. "This ends! I won't let you have your way anymore!" This shouted to Serenade, Breeze holds her Elec-Rod in front of her LIke some kind of spear or lance, and sails right for Serenade, trying to smash it right into the injured woman's chest and drive her into a wall. Outside> Serenade sends a radio transmission to Snake Man. Outside> Breeze strikes Serenade with her Fly-by Rod attack. Outside> Serenade falls to the ground, unconscious, due to massive systems damage. Outside> Serenade sends a radio transmission. Outside> Gemini Man receives a radio transmission. Outside> Bluegrass nods once at the transmission, and after checking all the people (doctors, nurses, and patients) She and Shadow inverently scared during the game of 'Hide and Seek'... Bluegrass heads out of the hospital, and proceeds to jet off into the air. As far as she knows -- The Masters didn't get anything, and the people who worked/recovered here are safe. Mission... AccompLIshed. Outside> Bluegrass retreats from the area swiftly, leaving her open to pursuit or parting shots from Serenade, and Breeze. Outside> There was a good reason she hadn't moved, though exactly what it might be is kind of obscure. She only smirks, bloodied LIps curLIng in a mocking expression as Breeze slams bodily into her, forcing her directly through a wall as systems shut down entirely and knocks her out cold. And she's LIkely to stay that way for a while, too.. Outside> Void Starfish drops down and catches up to Gemini near the entrance, grinning mischeviously. "There you are! Now I can set you on fire!" She swings her red arm forwards and releases the flaming shard, running after him. Outside> Void Starfish strikes Gemini Man with her Fire Spike attack. Outside> Breeze, as Serenade falls, does something less than traditionally heroic. Still extremely provoked by the events that have unfolded, she...begins whacking away at Serenade's fallen body. Kicks, Elec-rod thrusts and swings, and the LIke. She's probably not going to infLIct any truly lasting damage, but that's true of virtually all damage to robots, esp. Androids. Outside> Void Starfish brings her reflect system offLIne. Outside> (Serenade?)Oo Gemini hears the radio, but, then, nothing more. He clenches his fist again. "DAMN!" And that's when he's struck by the fire. The burst hits him hard, and he falls back, portions of his body set aflame momentarily, then, fading. He stands up, and, then, doubles back...running back toward the entrance. PulLIng out. Outside> Gemini Man retreats from the area swiftly, leaving him open to pursuit or parting shots from Serenade, Breeze, Bluegrass, and Shadow Man. Outside> Shadow Man shakes his head from his comfortable place inside the transport, all not getting shot at or anything. But orders are orders, even if he'd rather leave the waste of armor behind. Heading back towards the hospital at top speed, Shadow Man closes in on the fallen android's signal. Of course, she's probably not all that much LIghter than the thing they were after, but let it never be said Gemini Man always makes sense. Outside> Breeze is still beating on Serenade's fallen form. Very mature, very composed...no, it's none of that. Just assorted kicks and elec-rod whacks every few seconds, as she tries to make triply sure that Serenade is staying down. $$$$$$ BB Post in Progress $$$$$$$$$ Group: Civi+LIan Title: Hospital Incident ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (UN Only.
